How do I make a reservation?

Is there a deposit required?
We require a 50% first payment at the time you make a reservation. Guests reserving a vacation home for the following year may place a hold on the unit and then confirm & complete the first payment in January. The remainder is due prior to arrival.
What is the cancellation policy?
There is a $100/rental unit cancellation fee at all times.
Guests staying less than 2 weeks in a single vacation rental may cancel 30 days or more in advance of the stay to receive a refund, minus the cancellation fee. Guests canceling less than 30 days in advance of their stay forfeit the first payment.
The cancellation deadline is 60 days for guests staying 2 or more weeks, or for guests booking multiple vacation rentals (including guests booking 1 rental as part of a larger group, such as a wedding or family reunion). These guests may cancel 60 days or more in advance of the stay to receive a refund, minus the cancellation fee. Guests canceling less than 60 days in advance of their stay forfeit the first payment.
Is there a weekly rate?
There is a six night minimum stay required and a 10% discount for reservations between October and May 15th.
How can I pay?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and personal checks.
Can we bring a dog or cat?
No, we do not allow pets.
What is your smoking policy?
No smoking or burning of candles or incense is allowed inside any of the rentals.
What is the beach like?
It is a typical northwest small pebble to large boulder beach with driftwood.
How far are the cottages on the main property from your private beach?
The distance to the beach varies from cottage to cottage. Some are just a stairway above the water. Other cottages require a walk on a private driveway or a downhill, wooded path to reach the beach.
How far are the cottages on the main property from one another?
The cottages are about 150-200 ft apart. It's far enough that each cottage has its own sense of privacy, but close enough that larger groups can visit one another easily in nearby cottages.
How far are you from the ferry and from Eastsound village?
The Olga/Obstruction Pass rentals are approximately 18 miles from the ferry and 9 miles beyond Eastsound. The Wisteria Cottage and Chinook Studios are located in Eastsound and are approximately 9 miles from the ferry.
Can we have our wedding at Bayside Cottages?
We can accommodate guests who are here to attend a wedding but we no longer allow weddings or receptions and related events on site.
We do not do wedding planning but there are several wedding planners on Orcas. They can be found at orcasislandchamber.com. Often couples getting married elsewhere on the island stay with us, along with many of their guests. There is a lovely outdoor wedding venue located just down the road from us at Woodside Farm. For those who need help planning an island wedding from afar, Kimaya of Cloud Nine Events is a valuable resource.
Who supplies the towels and bed linens?
We supply the towels and bed linens.
Can we buy groceries on the island? Will our rental come stocked with food or basics?
Island Market is the main grocery store, located in Eastsound. There is also an organic Co-op grocery in Eastsound. We recommend that you stop and shop there on your way here as we are located 9 miles beyond the town.
As a fully licensed rental business, regulations prohibit us from providing food in the units. However, our kitchens are supplied with all the standard pots, pans, utensils, etc.
